altThe luxe Seven Stars resort in Providenciales on the Turks and Caicos islands presides over the world's best beach, according to the new TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice awards. It was also just named the world's Most Romantic Hotel or Resort in About.com's 2011 Readers' Choice Awards. Looking at its luxurious pool area (above) fronting the fine white sand and ultra-blue sea of Grace Bay it's easy to see why. You can of course stop in for a quick getaway but Seven Stars is perfectly equipped for longer stays as well thanks to its massive, luxuriously-equipped suites.

When you travel constantly, you are not easily impressed by hotels. You have no patience for pretentious or poor service, and you have seen enough amenity kits and fluffy robes to turn you off bathing permanently. Design does not even enter the picture until the all-too-common problem issues, such as bad pillows, no wifi or no internet connection at all, noisy surroundings and slow service, are eliminated.

A short break in Bali is so much better if you go Club Intercontinental.

The Intercontinental Bali Resort is a firm favorite for family holidays thanks to its easy access to the beautiful white sands of Jimbaran Bay and extensive kids' club. Now it beckons to guests used to a more exclusive resort experience. Club Intercontinental, unveiled in 2008, offers spacious rooms and suites with an extra veneer of luxury and service. Privileges in the Club wing, which maintains a respectable distance from the resort's general accommodation, include a 24-hour butler service, a quiet pool, use of an elegantly appointed lounge with complimentary food and drinks, and a choice of five breakfast venues.
