Models - Interviews

Here at Hidden Treasures Magazine, it can be hard to ignore a woman who looks at you with eyes that seem to see right through you. When Nicole Schneider asked to be featured I couldn’t help but say yes. Who knows what treasures can be found in the life of a mature model from Alberta Canada, Calgary to be exact. “I couldn’t have asked to live in a more beautiful country!” Nicole enthusiastically declares.

“The best thing about the city I live in,” she continues, “…is that we take pride in welcoming people every year to our Calgary Stampede which is a huge out door show and has been a part of the city’s heritage for many, many years.” I can tell this is a real source of pride for Nicole.  “…and I like the idea that millions of people get the opportunity to come and see how beautiful our city is and how nice the people are here in welcoming them.”

“My family on my father’s side is from Germany and Russia, and my mother’s sides were from Whales and Germany also!!” Growing up in Calgary, Nicole says she was “the ultimate Tom Boy, old jeans t-shirts and off I went, I had more fun doing boy stuff than girl stuff that’s for sure! And I still do today.” How does a tomboy decide to join the oft-times glamorous world of modeling? “What got me into modeling?” she begins, “Well I always admired looking at glamorous and beautiful women, from the 40’s and 50’s and love being in front of the camera.  Who influenced me was Marilyn Monroe, Jane Russell, Rita Hayworth they were so classy and sophisticated.”

“Before I became a model I was a jack of all trades, but I went to law school, and got my journeyman in being an executive chef,” states Nicole.  “My bosses will tell you that I am a very determined, hard working person and very goal oriented; when I have my sight set on a goal… I like to accomplish it!!” And when she is moving in on a target, motivation is never hard to find. “What motivate me are my children. They bring the sunshine back when you think you can’t handle things anymore! And remind us of how lucky and fortunate we really are!!”

Matters of concern can change once you become a public figure. “Well you realize that you have an influence on people and what you say and do, you are accountable for, so you always want to do the right thing, and you have to earn people’s respect in order to receive it!!! Don’t take what you’re not willing to give!!” Nicole is not your average model. “What unique experiences and qualities separate me from others?” she asks then answers, “… is that whatever it is I decide to do, I do it with purpose and meaning! I believe in helping other people and being humble, I don’t’ believe in judging other people, because everyone has there own story! And I believe everyone can learn from not only their own experiences in life, but others also.”

“My favorite venues to shop and party in are a little different from each other,” Nicole informs me.  “I love to go to new restaurants and experience different types of food from different cultures.[Where] I like to party is where everyone is having a good time, I like being there, nothing is more fun and exciting than meeting new people!!”

I imagine so many men being attracted to her, wanting to take the sexy lady out. Nicole has a warning for those who are blessed with the chance to get a date. “The worse thing that could go wrong on the first date...  Is a guy that can’t keep his hands to himself and has no self control and thinks he’s going to score on the first date!!!! Nope…….” Me I don’t think I could be so fortunate, yet a friend I am. “If you and I were close and you did something to upset me,” she tells me, “the best gift would be ‘not to say sorry, but be sorry’ oh yeah and some chocolate wouldn’t hurt either!!!”

“Do I find men intimidated about my sexiness?”  Nicole ponders. “ Maybe a little, but I think most men are intimidated by me because of my ability to be extremely independent, and can fix things that need to be fixed and not relying on them for anything that most women rely on them for!!!” “I think the thing that girls and guys admire most in me is that I am doer!!! I can model, build things, and fix my truck!! That I am completely self sufficient!!! And am a Jack of all trades!! And my word is everything!! Without it you have nothing….. I work out everyday, not because I have to but because I want to! It’s like anything else if you put the time in; you get to see the results!! And after a good hard workout you feel like a million bucks too!!!”

“One thing,” ending our interview on a altruistic note, “I would love to see happen in this world would be to stop the needless suffering of animals and children, they are defenseless, and once there gone their gone! I am a huge animal and child advocate.”
