HTM's Exclusive Interview With Pat Casey - Custom Sneaker Designer

HTM: Where do you find the greatest inspiration for your designs?

Casey: Basically everyday life and the things I’m interested in.  Listening to music, seeing different cultures, meeting new people and traveling new places. By learning, meeting and seeing new things is what helps my creativity and design constantly change.

HTM: How did you get into sneaker design? Do you remember your first?

Casey: I always like having stuff no one else had, I can’t stand fitting in with the same trends everyone else is wearing, to me it was just stupid. I remember being back in middle school and high school or at local parties and thinking I have the latest sneakers out on the market, then come to find out someone else is wearing the same sneakers I have. It started happening to often and that’s when I decided to customize my own sneakers so I know for a fact no one is going to have what I have. The first pair I made were on a pair of Philadelphia Eagles low top Nike af1 to match my Eagles jersey. I got a huge response off that pair which was the inspiration to perfect the skills of customizing.
